Depraved Fancy is a woman-led game studio in Washington state.
Our name—built on a literary allusion to a work by Nathaniel Hawthorne—speaks to our mission as an emerging studio to create feminist games that overturn, counter, or invert tropes and stereotypes, especially but not exclusively about women. Our studio builds small-scale games for mobile with a focus on puzzle games, narrative-driven games, and simulators. Our studio doesn’t use AI. We value hand-created, thoughtful content that emphasizes agency and choice for both creator and audience.
And the other part of our name is that we like the weird, the dark, and the strange.
Let’s overturn the patriarchy and capitalism—one game at a time!
